Content Management Systems - CMS - are extremely useful to add/amend your content to a page without using a programmer. In a large application content management can be set up on any defined page. A webpage is split up into different parts and various CMS packages will allow you control over each. How the detail is added varies, some allow drag and drop, others create boxes for you to add items within those boundaries, some are designed for smartphones and others for pcs. Generally they all provide:

The header

The header part is the top part of the page and is used on each webpage. Your business logo, contact numbers, social network links, login, registration and business name are popular so the user when browsing always has these details near to hand when browsing.

The Menu/Navigation

The menu is essential for navigating through the site. It varies position wise but typically will appear just under the header. You can have sub menu options as well which are displayed only when needed.

The Content

The content part is typically the middle of the page and varies from page to page. You can images, text, links, videos & slideshows here.

Footer

The footer part is the bottom part of the page and is used on each webpage. You can add all your menu links here as they are out of the way. Also the site copyright, registration & Vat number can be listed.
